1-2-3 Red Light ! Let’s pop some bubblegum. Our visitor this week is FRANK JECKELL founding member of THE 1910 FRUITGUM COMPANY.. .

The band started as Jeckell and the Hyde’s in New Jersey (1966).

The “1910 Fruitgum Company” name came from an old gum wrapper that Frank found in his attic. The band developed the bubble-gum sound of Rock and Roll and established it on the charts. Their first hit single “Simon Sez” danced to number 4 on the US charts and peaked at number 2 in the UK.

“Simon Sez” sold over three million records. They released other hits: “ May I Take A Giant Step”, “1,2,3 Red Light”, “Indian Giver” and” Goody Goody Gumdrops”.

The band started touring and opened for major acts including The Beach Boys – the original group disbanded in 1970. Frank Jeckell continues to tour and will visit with the Cuz this Saturday 4/27/24. Bubblegum Time!
