Singer Jerome Anthony “Little Anthony” Gourdine will be this Saturday night’s special guest. Gourdine was the lead vocalist of the group “Little Anthony and the Imperials.”

He grew up in Brooklyn and while he was attending high school, he and some of his friends created the musical group “The Duponts.”

Gourdine later joined the vocal group “The Chesters” where he was the lead singer. “The Chesters” ended up changing their name to “Little Anthony and The Imperials.”

The singing group performed on various shows including “American Bandstand,” “The Midnight Special,” and “The Tonight Show.” Their biggest hits included “A Prayer And A Juke Box,” “I’m On The Outside,” and “Hurt So Bad.”

“Little Anthony” got his nickname from the iconic radio and television personality Dick Clark.

Here is the group “Little Anthony and The Imperials” singing one of their hit singles “Tears On My Pillow:”

I will take requests and dedications live on-air! The call-in number is 800-848-9222. You can also call in for your chance to win Cousin Brucie merchandise such as a Cousin Brucie t-shirt and a Cousin Brucie hat as well as CDs and DVDs from my friends at Oldies.com.

Tune in on Saturday from 6 pm-10 pm! Don’t turn the radio off after my show is over because the “Saturday Nights with Tony Orlando” show comes on right after from 10 pm-midnight. It is going to be an amazing night!
