Hello Cousins!
Our Special guest this week is an Angel.
Peggy Santiglia is the former lead vocalist with The Angels. Peggy became an “Angel” in 1962 – joining the group – who just decorated the Music Charts with “Til” and “Cry Baby Cry.” It wasn’t an easy road for the original group – they eventually gave up and went back to school. (We’ll discuss this on the Air) – The Angels did a demo recording of a song that was specifically written for The Shirelles. The Angels demo recording was so good that the producers decided to release it.
It was a huge hit – jumping to number one on the charts. With Peggy Santiglia’s lead vocal, the record sold more than a million copies. You guessed it Cousins, the chart buster was “My Boyfriend’s Back.”
In 2005, The Angels were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.
