Hey Cousins!
Who’s got the Beatles? We’ve got the Beatles! After so many of your requests, we are bringing back W-A-Beatle-C this Saturday night! We’ll also be playing the best songs from over pond during the British Invasion!
Plus, Jimmy Stephens of “The Safaris” joins us as a very special guest!
The Safaris formed in 1959 and by 1960 they had their musical ride. The sound of a clock instantly tells us it is time for the hit ballad -“Image of a Girl.” The song was written by members of the group Richard Clasky and Marvin Rosenberg with lead vocalist Jimmy Stephens giving this Los Angeles quartet it’s easy listening sound.
“Image of a Girl” climbed to number 7 on the charts and has remained a radio favorite. The group released a few more songs, unfortunately they never came close to the success of “Image of a Girl.” The group eventually disbanded and was reignited by Jimmy Stephens in 2007. Thanks to the “My Music” (TJ Lebinsky) series on PBS and lots of Radio airplay – Jimmy and the Safaris are entertaining the audience again.
Join the Cuz and welcome Jimmy Stephens to WABC MusicRadio this Saturday 1/21/23.
Listen on Saturday from 6pm-10pm! Don’t turn the radio off after my show is over because the “Saturday Nights with Tony Orlando” show comes on right after from 10pm-midnight. It is going to be an amazing night!
