7-6-grammy
It seems as if the legendary Grammys are beginning to bend the knee to Artificial Intelligence and the music industry.
According to reports, there has been conversation in the music world that would open the door to the possibility of music created by Artificial Intelligence, (also known as AI)- will be eligible to win awards at the legendary and honorable music award show.
While the concept as a whole as managed to create some serious debate, the Grammys was sure to specify that there is still a “human” aspect to receiving the award despite this. Recording Academy CEO and President Harvey Mason Jr. explained that “a work that contains no human authorship is not eligible in any category.”
In a statement that Mason gave to Associated Press, he stated:
“Here’s the super easy, headline statement: AI, or music that contains AI-created elements, is absolutely eligible for entry and for consideration for Grammy nomination. Period. What’s not going to happen is we are not going to give a Grammy or Grammy nomination to the AI portion… As long as the human is contributing in a more than de minimis amount, which to us means a meaningful way, they are and will always be considered for a nomination or a win.”
Do you think people who use AI should be considered for a Grammy?
