Hello everyone!
Thank you everybody, as we are in the beginning of our third magnificent year of “Saturday Nights With Tony Orlando”….Thanks to ALL of you!!! And we have covered every possible musical genre. But, I have to tell you… I can never get tired of or get enough of MOTOWN!
Here’s a mind blowing fact…MOTOWN produced over 120 major hit records, and with that, blessed the world with incredible artists, in house songwriters writing amazing songs, and record producers producing masterpieces, all led by the Genius himself, Founder and CEO, BERRY GORDY! So, I was ready to go back to this historical playlist of hits and thereby creating a virtual MOTOWN Radio museum that will be taking you, the listener, into each room of masterpieces, the recordings of MOTOWN, treating each record like an art museum would treat a PICASSO, or the MONA LISA!
I also invited the record promotion man who got all the early MOTOWN records on the radio, and without him, we artists would never get radio air play. His name is MEL KANAR, and he shares some great MOTOWN stories of how he was there in the very beginnings!
So, to quote ROD STEWART, we’ll bring over some of our old MOTOWN Records, and listen to the memories on the radio! Yes, that’s Music Radio 77 WABC!
