Hi Everybody!
Last week I was doing some research about this incredible Music Man and Genius, QUINCY JONES, and all of his life’s work. Imagine…this is a SEVEN DECADE career! QUINCY JONES received 28 GRAMMY AWARDS, a PRIMETIME EMMY AWARD, a TONY AWARD, as well as SEVEN ACADEMY AWARD Nominations, and FOUR GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS….. Absolutely AMAZING!!! And, while doing my homework, I came across a video of a young SINATRA, a young SAMMY, and a young DEAN MARTIN, on stage in Las Vegas as THE RAT PACK, and to my surprise, I hear SINATRA shout-out to that Las Vegas audience at the Sahara Hotel and Casino…”Ladies and Gentlemen, how about a grand hand for our Conductor and Musical Arranger, MR. QUINCY JONES!!!”…and I thought THE RAT PACK?! My God, that was back in the 60’s, wow! Then, I fast forward to late 70’s and 80’s, and I am in total amazement, that the same person who produced MICHAEL JACKSON’S “Thriller” and “Billie Jean” and LIONEL RICHIE and MICHAEL JACKSON’S anthem “We Are The World”, is the man I am proudly paying tribute to and remembering this Saturday night.
I will also reveal how while he produced and arranged a session for DONNA SUMMER’S recording “The State Of Independence”, and how it was while doing that session for DONNA that inspired MICHAEL and LIONEL to write “We Are The World”.
Just think, all that QUINCY did was so many years AFTER he was SINATRA’S Musical Director for him and his legendary RAT PACK in Las Vegas… wow!!! This Musical Genius of a man QUINCY JONES, arranging everything from BIG BAND ,to JAZZ, to POP, and RYTHM AND BLUES! And all classics is AMAZING! Also, it gets even more jaw-dropping…QUINCY JONES scored for iconic motion pictures, And BROADWAY shows like award-winning film and Broadway show the “The Color Purple”, and get this… with all that he even was the producer/and arranger of the pop recording artist LESLEY GORE back in the early 60’s, arranging and producing her million-selling hits “It’s My Party” and “You Don’t Own Me”!

So…this Saturday night, it’s the one, and the only, incredible QUINCY JONES, join me as I pay tribute and remember this great American music genius! Whose middle name is “DELIGHT”! Yes, it’s QUINCY DELIGHT JONES and I am PROUD and DELIGHTED to pay tribute and remember the Great QUINCY “DELIGHT”
