ROCK & ROLL CALL

Neil Sedaka and I share a common upbringing in Brooklyn, New York, and have enjoyed a strong personal and professional connection spanning several years. His classical music training during his early years laid the foundation for a legendary career that has endured for over six decades. Throughout his career, Neil has consistently demonstrated an awareness of current and future musical trends. With a catalog of over 500 songs, he remains one of the most influential and talented artists in the industry.

Neil’s partnership with lyricist Howard Greenfield, which began when they were teenagers, yielded numerous hits and established them as pioneers of the ‘Brill Building Sound.’ Hits like ‘Stairway To Heaven,’ ‘Calendar Girl,’ and ‘Breaking Up Is Hard to Do’ quickly gained popularity. Neil’s ability to draw inspiration from his personal life greatly contributed to his success, as evident in songs like ‘Oh Carol’ and ‘The Diary.’

Although music styles have evolved over the years, Neil Sedaka has continued to adapt and find success. His collaborations with Phil Cody, such as ‘Laughter in the Rain’ and ‘Bad Blood,’ once again propelled him to the top of the charts. Notably, he is also credited with inventing the ‘DO BE DOOS.’

Please join us in welcoming this legendary artist to WABC MusicRadio – Neil Sedaka – this Saturday, 1/18/25.
