Cousins, I have a very Special Valentine gift for you – America’s Sweetheart of Song, CONNIE FRANCIS will be our guest this Saturday.
Connie was born in Newark, New Jersey and is one of the most iconic and loved American pop singers of the 20th century. She was the top-charting female vocalist of the late 1950s and early 1960s, selling over 100 million records worldwide. Her hits like “Who’s Sorry Now,” “Stupid Cupid,” and “Where the Boys Are” made her a household name and a pioneer for women in rock and roll.
Connie became the first woman to top the Billboard Hot 100 with “Everybody’s Somebody’s Fool” in 1960 and was celebrated internationally for recording songs in multiple languages. Her career extended beyond music to acting, with her role in Where the Boys Are (1960) cemented her influence on pop culture.
She chronicled her life in her memoir Among My Souvenirs (2017).
