Our guest this week is – LOU CHRISTIE.
Lou is an amazing performer and a very successful singer-songwriter. His hits include: the number one chart topper – ”Lightning Strikes” (reached number 1 (on his 23d birthday), “Two Faces Have I”, and I’m Gonna Make You Mine”. He collaborated with songwriter Twyla Herbert, who was in her 20s while Christie was in his mid-teens when they wrote his hits. Lou is truly a renaissance guy – he worked as a trucker, roughneck, and “carnie” before finding his fortune and fame as a pop singer.
My favorite Lou Christie hit is “Rhapsody of the Rain”. You remember that “Rhapsody” caused a big stir and was banned on many radio stations because of the lyrics and content of the song. Eventually he changed the lyrics to fit the finicky- formats. Lou also did an amazing version of “Beyond the Blue Horizon” in the major motion picture “Rain Man” (Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman).
His stage performances are electric and continue to thrill audiences Internationally.
Lou has a new release of a hit written by Johnny Mercer in 1944. “Dream” – another beautiful ballad by Lou.
Let’s Welcome multi-talented LOU CHRISTIE to MusicRadio this Saturday 3/ 22/25 .
