“Tapestry Revisited” is a tribute to CAROLE KING’s album “Tapestry”, one of the biggest selling albums in record making history and one of the longest to ever stay on American, and UK charts.
This Saturday night, all of these great artists on the “Tapestry Revisited” album, artists like THE BEE GEES, ROD STEWART, and CELINE DION sing their versions of Carole’s songs she wrote from that historical album “Tapestry”. I have the honor of knowing Carole since I was 16 years old, and the fact that she wrote and arranged my first hit record “Halfway To Paradise”, along with her husband and lyricist , GERRY GOFFIN.
This show is very close to my heart, for it was Carole & Gerry who taught me at 16 years old so much about phrasing as a singer and how to record in the studio,etc.. There are no words that can I express how much she influenced me at the tender age of 16. I am now and forever grateful to her and her husband GERRY GOFFIN.
And this much I know about CAROLE KING of today, she is super humble about her past works and is an artist that prefers not to talk about her past, but rather concentrate on the now…the present! Because that’s what will motivate her, to focus on the present not the past ,because she wants to continue to grow which will allow her to move forward and write new songs.
This is why Carole will always move to the next phase of her remarkable genius career. But…we her fans can enjoy her past works and life by seeing the Broadway smash hit “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical”, or revisiting her beautiful multi-Grammy winning album “Tapestry” or going to her live performances on stages around the world!
And soon to be released, the motion picture “Beautiful”, the life story of the great CAROLE KING. This Saturday night , we will play “Tapestry Revisited”, and also the songs that she’s written for artists since 1961 that will make you shake your head and say “I didn’t know Carole King wrote that!” So, join me as we revisit “Tapestry Revisited” and more as we wish CAROLE KING a major thanks for being such a great part of our lives.
