Iron Maiden are on tour again- but this time they’re back with some surprises up their sleeve.
Last night (May 28), the metal legends kicked off their The Future Past tour in Slovenia- and to many fans delight and blindsided surprise, they performed their Somewhere in Time closer track “Alexander The Great”.
What makes this so special, though – the band has never performed this record live in the history of the band’s live performances despite it being a favorite to a massive amount of fans.
While this may have been the biggest rarity on Maiden’s setlist, it was not the only one to finally get the live-love it deserves.
The band started their show off with “Caught Somewhere in Time,” with that being the first time its been performed since 1987 and “Stranger In a Strange Land” which hasn’t been performed live since 1999.
While the rare tracks are exciting, many fans are sadly speculating that this may be Iron Maiden’s last official tour performing any of these songs that us metal fans grew up blasting over our speakers.
