Hey Cousins!
Cousins, I am looking forward to our next WABC visitor PETER NOONE
this Saturday 7/8/23. The following Thursday on the 13th – Peter and Herman’s Hermits, Jay Siegel’s Tokens and The Soundtrack of Our Lives will join the Cuz on the PNC Arts Stage (Holmdel, NJ) for an amazing night of music. You are invited.
In 1965 Billboard magazine ranked Peter Noone and Herman’s Hermits- America’s top singles act of the year ( the Beatles were #2).
The band topped the Charts with “Mrs. Brown You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter” and “I’m Henry the Eighth, I Am”. “Mrs. Brown” debuted at #12 on the Charts (April 1965) and they were the decade’s third highest ranked band behind the Beatles.
Herman’s Hermits chart hits include “I’m into Something Good” (1964), their covers of both “Silhouettes” and “Wonderful World” and, “A Must to Avoid”. “There’s a Kind of Hush” and one of their most popular recordings, “No Milk Today” plus their recording of “Dandy” (The Kinks) all continue to be Show Stoppers.
Peter and Herman’s Hermits appeared in several MGM films. They were featured opposite Connie Francis in When the Boys Meet the Girls (1965) and starred in “Hold On!”. They were also featured in the 1965 British music revue film “Pop Gear”.
Peter Noone left the band in 1971 and reunited with Herman’s Hermits in 1973 to headline a British invasion tour of the US, ending with a Sold Out performance at Madison Square Garden.
Welcome – Peter!
The best music from the 50s, 60s and 70s. I will take requests and dedications live on-air! The call-in number is 800-848-9222.
