Legendary “Whitesnake” guitarist and co-writer of “Here I Go Again” Bernie Marsden has passed away.
According to reports, the guitarist and songwriter, who played with Whitesnake in the 70’s and 80s taking part in writing smash hits including “Here I Go Again” and “Fool for Your Loving” along with a lengthy solo career- was just 72 years old.
Marsden’s former bandmate David Coverdale took to social media with a statement that read:
“Good Morning…I’ve just woken up to the awful news that my old friend & former Snake Bernie Marsden has passed. My sincere thoughts & prayers to his beloved family, friends & fans. A genuinely funny, gifted man, whom I was honored to know & share a stage with
RIP, Bernie XXX”
There have not been any further details surrounding the circumstances of the late guitarist’s death at this time.
He is said to leave behind a wife and daughter.
