TOMMY JAMES is one of the most active performers in the business today.
His National concert tours, a new movie, recording and his radio show keep this star very busy. Tommy got his big break while he was at a Chicago radio station event. The host played an unfinished version of “Crimson and Clover” on the air as a sample of Tommy’s work. The audience responded immediately and Tommy was off to a flying start. … and his HITS kept coming – “Sweet Cherry Wine”, “Crystal Blue Persuasion”, “Hanky Panky”, “I Think we’re Alone Now”, “Mirage”, and of course- “Mony Mony”.
By 1969, the band became involved with psychedelia – songs like “Crystal Blue Persuasion,” a recording known for its smooth, laid-back style and lyrics.
This song specifically demonstrated the band’s versatility and Tommy James’ interest in studio experimentation.
Tommy James and the Shondells will be at the Carteret performing arts center in Carteret , NJ on Saturday October 26th
